Tuft Love

This post is going to give you some tuft love.

Have you been on #tuftok yet? Have no idea what we are talking about?

Let me explain.

During the past 2 years, many of us have learned to embrace our creative sides. Since we weren’t going out or seeing friends and family like we used to, we started taking up arts and crafts, baking sourdough or banana bread or learning to play an instrument to fill the gaps in time before our next Zoom meeting.

One of the standout trends for crafters with a love for all things interior is tufting – a method of rug-making that was last popular in the 1960s and early 70s. It’s really no surprise really. We’ve all been obsessed with retro design for a while now; mid-mod, boho, 70s glam, so it makes sense to bring this comfy, textured look back into the home.

One of the best parts of this trend are the creators making videos and demos on popular social network TikTok. #tuftok has been trending for months and we bet, the vids of amazing creators making the most incredible rugs and wall decor have ended up in your FYP page if you spend any time on the network at all. Armed with fancy tufting guns and endless creative ideas, makers are creating unique pieces that embrace design, colour and texture.
